Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach in improving the learning outcomes of students in class VII - E SMP Negeri 1 Diwek on the material of building space. This Classroom Action Research (PTK) uses a qualitative approach, because this approach can facilitate researchers in describing the data. The subjects in this study were students of class VII - E SMP Negeri 1 Diwek. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles, in each cycle consisting of four stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) action, (3) observation, and (4) analyzing and reflecting. Based on the results of the research conducted, that the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach increases the understanding of students on the material of building space. With the average acquisition in cycle I with an average of 44,1% and in cycle II with an average result of 62,8%. From cycle I and cycle II there was an increase of 18,7% after using the RME approach to the learning process in the classroom.

Abstract

The Problem Based Learning model is a learning model that prioritizes problems in its presentation. Through the Problem Based Learning model it can also stimulate students' thinking abilities and students' active role in the learning process. So, through the application of the Problem Based Learning model, researchers conducted Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the aim of improving mathematics learning outcomes. The subjects of this research were students in class IX-D of SMP Negeri 1 Diwek. The research instruments used were pre-cycle test sheets, cycle I post-test sheets, cycle II post-test sheets, and documentation. The research results show that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class IX-D students at SMP Negeri 1 Diwek in accordance with the KKTP, namely 53.12% of students complete (pre-cycle), 68.75% of students complete (cycle I), and 87.5% of students completed (cycle II).

Abstract

Group discussion is a method that requires not only students and teachers, but also students and students to interact and exchange experiences and information when solving problems. Through the group discussion method, students have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and learn from other people's perspectives, which is expected to improve student learning outcomes. This research is classroom action research (PTK) with the aim of finding out improvements in student learning outcomes by applying the group discussion method. The research subjects were students of class VII F at SMP N 1 Diwek Jombang. The instruments used in the research were end-of-cycle test sheets and documentation. The research results show that the application of the group discussion method can improve the learning outcomes of class VII F students at SMP N 1 Diwek Jombang. Marked by an increase in the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes in the first cycle, it was 68.57%, increasing in the second cycle by 87.5%.
