Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of color board image media in improving early childhood color recognition abilities at KB Putra Bangsa. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of teachers, the school principal, and students at KB Putra Bangsa. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the use of color board image media helps children recognize colors more easily through activities such as matching pictures, mentioning color names, and grouping objects based on similar colors. The media also increases children's participation and enthusiasm during the learning process. Furthermore, the interaction between teachers and children during learning activities reflects a scaffolding process that gradually helps children understand color concepts. Therefore, the color board image media can be an effective learning medium to improve color recognition abilities in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of educational picture card games in developing children's language skills at Zainul Hasan Genggong Kindergarten, to identify children's interest in the use of this learning media, and to examine the challenges encountered during the learning process. The picture card media utilizes visual images to introduce vocabulary, improve speaking skills, and strengthen children's memory. Based on the literature review, the use of visual media in early childhood education helps children understand information more concretely and increases their engagement in learning activities. Previous studies have demonstrated that picture card games are effective in improving children's language development, particularly in vocabulary acquisition, speaking ability, and communication confidence. However, the implementation of this learning media varies across educational institutions, resulting in different characteristics and outcomes. Therefore, further research is needed to explore its application in different educational settings. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research focuses on the implementation process of educational picture card games, children's responses during learning activities, as well as the supporting factors and obstacles encountered throughout the implementation. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive description of the use of educational picture card games as an alternative learning medium for enhancing early childhood language development and to contribute to the improvement of learning practices in early childhood education.
