<![CDATA[Classical Islamic education as presented in the book Ta'lim al-Muta'allim by Burhan al-Din al-Zarnuji offers an educational concept that emphasizes the integration of moral values, ethics, and spirituality into the learning process. This concept is considered relevant in addressing the challenge of moral decline in contemporary education, particularly in the context of character development among students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Al-Zarnuji’s educational philosophy at Syamsul Falah Islamic Boarding School, West Lombok, focusing on the values of sincerity, respect for teachers, academic discipline, teaching methods, and the strengthening of students’ spirituality. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that Al-Zarnuji’s educational values are implemented through three primary strategies: the study of classical Islamic texts using the bandongan and sorogan methods, the cultivation of proper behavior in daily life, and the exemplary conduct demonstrated by the ustadz and boarding school caregivers. In addition, students are encouraged to internalize ethical values in their interactions with teachers, peers, and the broader community. These implementations contribute significantly to character formation, fostering discipline, moral responsibility, humility, and spiritual awareness in the pursuit of knowledge. The study concludes that Al-Zarnuji’s educational philosophy remains relevant and adaptable to contemporary Islamic education. It provides a strong foundation for balancing intellectual development with character building and spiritual growth, thereby supporting the formation of well-rounded individuals with strong moral and religious values.]]>
