Abstract

The dichotomy of knowledge in modern education has become one of the major issues influencing society’s mindset and educational system. The separation between religious knowledge and general science not only affects the educational aspect but also gives rise to various social problems, such as moral crises, individualism, and the weakening of spiritual values in modern life. This study aims to analyze the urgency of integrating religion and science as a response to the crisis of knowledge dichotomy from a sociological perspective. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research methods. The data were obtained through the examination of books,scientific journals, and academic sources relevant to the research topic. Data analysis was conducted using descriptiveanalytical methods with a sociological approach. The findings reveal that the dichotomy of knowledge leads to an imbalance between intellectual development and the moral formation of students. In addition, the dualism between public schools and Islamic boarding schools indicates that the integration of knowledge has not been implemented optimally. Therefore, the integration of religion and science becomes an important solution in developing a holistic educational system through the development of an integrative curriculum, interdisciplinary approaches, and the strengthening of moral and spiritual values in modern education.
