Abstract

The aim of this research is to increase the understanding of science concepts for class III students at SDN 2 Kepanjenkidul through the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by Geo Adventure Cards on natural landscape and human adaptation material. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects were 22 students consisting of 12 male students and 10 female students. The research was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data was obtained through tests, observations, reflective journals, and documentation. The research results show that the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model with the help of Geo Adventure Cards can increase students' understanding of science concepts. The students' average score increased from 80.00 in Cycle I to 86.84 in Cycle II, while the percentage of learning completion increased from 66.67% to 84.21%. Thus, the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model with the help of the Geo Adventure Card can increase the understanding of science concepts for class III students at SDN 2 Kepanjenkidul.
