Abstract

STKIP Pacitan has adopted Moodle as its primary Learning Management System (LMS) to improve the quality of learning and teaching efficiency in the digital era. Adapting to educational technology requires the faculty's deep understanding and effective management skills. Therefore, Moodle management training was conducted to enhance the faculty's abilities in planning, targeting, and producing quality learning outcomes. Through interactive sessions and workshops, faculty members were taught how to design courses, organize content, and utilize Moodle's features for more dynamic and participatory learning activities. The main focus of the training was on integrating assessment tools and discussion forums to enhance interaction and effective feedback. The training evaluation was conducted by measuring the faculty's performance before and after the training using indicators of course planning quality and evaluation tools. The training successfully demonstrated that the use of Moodle not only supports the efficiency of the teaching and learning process but also improves the quality of education at STKIP Pacitan, with increases of 27%, 68%, and 77% over three months in May, June, and July 2024, respectively. In addition, several applied learning methods positively impact students; feedback to students is increasingly focused (LMS record), which shows that learning effectiveness is increasing. This training recommends ongoing training to ensure optimal utilization of educational technology and continuous adaptation to the latest developments in educational technology.

Abstract

Katekan Village Culinary Park, Gantiwarno, Klaten, Central Java, is a culinary tourism spot that was just inaugurated in July 2023 by the Regent of Klaten which aims to develop local MSME activities in the Klaten area of Central Java. Several problems include the need to open insights for culinary MSME actors to participate in developing culinary tourism spots, limited infrastructure, information systems, management, marketing and promotion, product quality and sustainability, and local community participation. The urgency lies in the potential to transform Katekan Village into an attractive tourism destination and provide better business opportunities for surrounding MSMEs. The method used in this PKM activity is Participation Action Research, involving the village government in managing information media and fostering information media management skills through websites, which impacts the increase in the number of visits. The output of this activity is an activity in the form of developing culinary park tourism in Katekan Village, Gantiwarno, Klaten, Central Java, with information technology media in the form of a prototype of a website-based culinary park information system which has an impact on increasing the number of visits by 70%.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of text mining techniques in Automatic Short Answer Grading (ASAG) by comparing five textual similarity methods: Cosine Similarity, Jaccard Similarity, Dice’s Coefficient, Overlap Coefficient, and Matching Coefficient. The dataset consists of five definition-based questions answered by 25 students in a Human–Computer Interaction course. The data were preprocessed using case folding, tokenization, stop word removal, and stemming. The results show that Cosine Similarity achieved the highest similarity score of 67.00%, followed by Overlap Coefficient (66.67%) and Dice’s Coefficient (63.16%), while Jaccard Similarity and Matching Coefficient produced lower scores of 46.15%. These findings indicate that vector-based similarity methods are more effective in handling variations in sentence structure and keyword usage compared to set-based approaches, particularly for definition-based short answers. This study provides a comparative evaluation of multiple lexical similarity methods within a unified experimental setting, offering practical insights for selecting appropriate techniques in ASAG applications.
