Abstract

Macrofungi play an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance as decomposers, food sources, and indicators of environmental quality. The oil palm plantation of PT Inecda Plantation Seberida provides abundant organic matter, creating favorable conditions for the growth of various macrofungal species. This study aimed to identify the species of macrofungi and analyze their diversity in the oil palm plantation area of PT Inecda Plantation Seberida, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach using survey methods and purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through direct field observations, morphological identification of macrofungi, and analyses of the Shannon–Wiener diversity index, evenness index, and dominance index. The results revealed the presence of 22 macrofungal species belonging to the phyla Basidiomycota and Ascomycota, as well as one species from the Myxomycota group. The diversity index (H') ranged from 1.68 to 2.18, indicating a moderate level of diversity, while the evenness index ranged from 0.54 to 0.71 and the dominance index ranged from 0.14 to 0.25, suggesting the absence of any significantly dominant species. Environmental conditions at the study site were generally favorable for macrofungal growth. Most of the identified macrofungi functioned as decomposers, several species had potential as food sources, and one species was identified as a potential pathogen of oil palm plants.
