Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of coach leadership style on athlete satisfaction among Pencak Silat Pagar Nusa athletes in Nganjuk Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression design. The population consisted of 111 athletes from five active Pagar Nusa branches in Nganjuk Regency. A total of 63 athletes were selected as research samples using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring coach leadership style and athlete satisfaction. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, and simple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and met the linearity assumption. Simple linear regression analysis revealed a significant positive effect of coach leadership style on athlete satisfaction (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05). The correlation coefficient was 0.761, indicating a strong relationship. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.579, meaning that coach leadership style contributed 57.9% to athlete satisfaction. These findings indicate that effective leadership characterized by communication, support, motivation, and positive feedback can increase athlete satisfaction during the training process. Therefore, coach leadership style is an important factor in improving athlete satisfaction and supporting sports achievement development
