Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of developing environmental care character among university students amidst increasing environmental problems. Higher education institutions play a strategic role in fostering ecological awareness through ecology-based campus programs integrated with Islamic values. This study aimed to describe the forms of integration of Islamic values within ecology-based campus programs, identify the implementation strategies, and analyze their contribution to the development of environmental care character among students at Nurul Huda University. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving university leaders, faculty administrators, study program heads, and students as research informants. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the integration of Islamic values was manifested through the ecotechnopreneurship vision, paperless office policies, the use of reusable tumblers, greening programs, community service activities, and the incorporation of Islamic values into learning processes and religious activities. The implementation strategies included socialization, habituation, role modeling, and student involvement in various environmental programs. The integration contributed positively to the development of students’ environmental care character, as reflected in increased awareness of cleanliness, reduced plastic consumption, and active participation in environmental conservation activities on campus.
