Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Market Day activities on the numeracy skills of children aged 5-6 years at Kemala Bhayangkari 05 Kindergarten, Serang City. The research uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study subjects amounted to 14 children of group B aged 5–6 years. Data was collected through numeracy observation sheets that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed an average pretest score of 43.36 and increased to 57.21 in the posttest. The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), so that there was a significant influence of Market Day activities on children's numeracy skills. The N-Gain test result of 0.6831 is in the medium category which shows that Market Day activities are quite effective in improving numeracy skills. These findings confirm that direct experiential learning through buying and selling simulations can help children understand the concept of numbers, count the number of objects, recognize the value of money, and perform simple calculation operations in a contextual manner. Market Day activities can be used as an innovative and fun learning alternative to develop early childhood numeracy skills.
