Abstract

This study aims to identify the difficulties in passing skills among female futsal athletes at Hantukota Academy. Passing is a fundamental skill in futsal, playing an essential role in building attacks, maintaining ball possession, and enhancing team performance effectiveness. This research used a descriptive quantitative approach involving female futsal athletes actively training at the academy. Data were collected through a passing skill test covering accuracy, passing power, and decision-making in game situations, supported by direct observation. The results show that decision-making difficulty reached 70%, passing accuracy 62%, and passing power 48%. Overall, the athletes’ passing performance is categorized as low to moderate with an average difficulty level of 60%. These findings indicate that both cognitive and technical aspects remain the main challenges, highlighting the need for more effective and innovative training approaches, particularly through video-based instructional media to improve technical understanding and decision-making in futsal gameplay.
