Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of Grade III students at UPTD SD Negeri 01 Peusangan Selatan on sensory organs material, where only 6 out of 20 students (30%) met the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), due to the dominance of lecture-based methods that minimized active student engagement. This study aimed to improve learning outcomes, teacher and student activity, and student responses through the application of the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) model. This classroom action research (PTK) followed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles involving 20 students. Data were collected through end-of-cycle tests, observation sheets, and response questionnaires, analyzed using descriptive percentage techniques. Results showed classical learning completeness increased from 60% in Cycle I to 95% in Cycle II, surpassing the 75% success threshold. Teacher activity improved from 89.5% (Good) to 96.7% (Very Good), and student activity from 70.5% (Sufficient) to 93.8% (Very Good). The class mean score rose from 72 to 85. Additionally, 92% of students responded positively. It is concluded that the SAVI model is proven effective in improving learning outcomes and student engagement in elementary science education.
