Abstract

This study aimed to determine: (1) students’ learning outcomes before and after the implementation of interactive video-based learning media, (2) the improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the interactive video-based learning media, and (3) the significant effect of interactive video-based learning media on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 2 Bontonompo Selatan. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class that received instruction using interactive video-based learning media and a control class that received conventional instruction. The research instrument was a learning achievement test administered through pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including the normality test, homogeneity test, Independent Sample t-test, and Effect Size analysis. The results showed that: (1) students’ learning outcomes increased from a mean pretest score of 42.03 to a mean posttest score of 82.81 after the implementation of the interactive video-based learning media; (2) there was a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the media; and (3) the implementation of interactive video-based learning media had a significant positive effect on students’ learning outcomes. Therefore, interactive video-based learning media can be used as an effective learning alternative to improve students’ learning outcomes.
