Abstract

Training on developing differentiation-based learning tools for MGMP IPA Makassar City aims to improve science teachers' competence in preparing teaching modules and learner worksheets (LKPD). This training included 20 science teachers who were members of the Makassar City Science MGMP. This activity occurred in December 2024 at the FMIPA Campus of Makassar State University. The Differentiated Science Inquiry (DSI) learning model is the focus of development by implementing four levels of inquiry: Demonstrated Inquiry, Structured Inquiry, Guided Inquiry, and Self-Directed Inquiry. The methods applied in the training include material delivery, training in the preparation of tools, and evaluation of training results. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in science teachers' understanding of aspects of the preparation of LKPDs dan modules, including understanding differentiated learning, DSI learning models, and the characteristics of LPDs and teaching modules. The training participants also showed enthusiasm and gave positive feedback regarding the methods and materials presented. Thus, this training can increase teacher creativity in developing flexible science learning tools that fit students' needs to support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to enhance the competencies of teachers at SMP Negeri 6 Tinggimoncong through training in the development of digital teaching media. The training focuses on two main aspects: increasing knowledge about the types of digital teaching media that can be applied in teaching and improving teachers' skills in using Canva to design more creative teaching materials. The results of the training show a significant improvement in both aspects. Teachers' knowledge of digital teaching media increased from 30% to 80%, while their skills in using Canva increased from 25% to 75%. This improvement indicates that the training successfully broadened teachers' understanding of the use of technology in teaching and provided them with practical skills in designing engaging and effective teaching materials. With these new skills, teachers can enhance the quality of classroom instruction and create more interactive learning experiences for students. This training is also expected to offer solutions to the challenges faced by teachers in remote areas with limited access to technology and educational training.

Abstract

Miskonsepsi merupakan fenomena kesalahan dalam memahami suatu konsep yang telah tertanam dalam diri siswa. Miskonsepsi erat kaitannya dengan proses perkembangan kognitif siswa. Pembelajaran guided inquiry merupakan pembelajaran yang menekankan pada proses perkembangan kognitif melalui kegiatan inkuiri. Ada beberapa metode yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran inkuiri, antara lain demonstrasi dan eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran guided inquiry dengan metode demonstrasi dan eksperimen berbantuan PhET Simulation terhadap penurunan miskonsepsi siswa dan membandingkan penurunan miskonsepsi antara keduanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest-posttest design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Kota Mojokerto, Jawa Timur pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan sampel penelitian siswa kelas X-E dan X-G yang masing-masing berjumlah 31 dan 32 siswa. Siswa kelas X-E diberikan perlakuan pembelajaran guided inquiry dengan metode eksperimen dan siswa kelas X-G menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes. Instrumen tes yang diberikan diselesaikan dan dianalisis menggunakan Certainty Response Index (CRI) kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji-t dua pihak. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran guided inquiry dengan metode demonstrasi dan eksperimen berbantuan PhET Simulation efektif dalam menurunkan miskonsepsi siswa dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam menurunkan miskonsepsi di antara keduanya.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi dan tingginya kebutuhan media pembelajaran yang menarik untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa.  Salah satu teknologi media pembelajaran yaitu program Mikrokontroler Arduiono Uno yang memiliki kemajuan cukup baik di bidang pendidikan. Media pembelajaran Arduino Uno mampu menarik minat dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik.  Tujuan: pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru IPA di Kabupaten Maros dalam memanfaatkan teknologi Arduino Uno sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif. Metode: Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahap: (1) sosialisasi konsep Arduino dalam pembelajaran IPA, (2) pelatihan praktik pemrograman dasar, dan (3) evaluasi melalui pretest-posttest dan angket respon peserta. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah guru IPA Kabupaten Maros. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi pelatihan Arduino Uno menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta sebesar 70%. Peserta menyatakan pelatihan sangat relevan untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai media pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran IPA. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan ini berhasil membekali guru dengan keterampilan merancang media pembelajaran sederhana menggunakan Arduino Uno, serta mendorong penerapan pembelajaran aktif di kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, reliable, and practical project assessment sheet instrument for the Substances and Energy course using the ADDIE model. The instrument was developed through the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The content validity of the instrument was tested using Aiken's V formula with two expert validators and resulted in an average value of 0.913, indicating very high validity. Instrument reliability was tested using Cronbach's Alpha coefficient with a value of 0.95, indicating very high internal consistency. The practicality test of the instrument through student responses showed an average score above 4.0 on a scale of 1-5, with the percentage of positive responses of “Agree” and “Strongly Agree” reaching almost 60%, indicating that the instrument is easy to understand and use and is able to motivate students in project work. Although there is some room for improvement, this instrument is well received by students and lecturers and is suitable for use as a project-based learning evaluation tool in the Substance and Energy course.

Abstract

Kesenjangan keterampilan guru dalam merancang media visual yang komunikatif masih membatasi kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan guru mendesain poster edukatif sebagai media pembelajaran melalui pemanfaatan Canva. Kegiatan dilaksanakan tatap muka pada 19 Juli 2025 di SMP Negeri 4 Bontolempangan Gowa dengan sasaran guru lintas mata pelajaran, menggunakan pendekatan berorientasi praktik yang mencakup pemaparan konsep inti (prinsip CARP, tipografi, warna, dan etika lisensi), diskusi terarah, serta pendampingan praktik pembuatan poster. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest–posttest (20 butir) dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan kenaikan rata-rata skor dari 79,0 menjadi 87,0 (selisih 8 poin) dengan N-gain 0,40 (kategori sedang); hampir seluruh peserta meningkat 5–15 poin. Produk poster yang dihasilkan beragam dan umumnya telah menerapkan prinsip desain yang baik, meskipun masih diperlukan perbaikan pada keterbacaan teks dan proporsi tata letak. Dampaknya terlihat pada peningkatan literasi desain digital, motivasi berinovasi, dan ketersediaan media siap pakai untuk pembelajaran. Program ini disimpulkan efektif dan relevan untuk direplikasi, dengan keberlanjutan melalui klinik desain berkala, mekanisme umpan balik antarguru, repositori poster bersama, uji coba terstruktur di kelas, dan evaluasi periodik atas keterlibatan serta capaian belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on students’ science process skills (SPS) in science education through a systematic literature review. Out of 70 initially identified articles, 30 were shortlisted, and 14 were ultimately selected based on their relevance and methodological rigor. The reviewed studies were obtained from open-access journals and employed various research designs, including quasi-experimental, classroom action research, qualitative case study, and research and development (R&D) approaches. A systematic review protocol was applied, comprising stages of identification, title and abstract screening, and full-text assessment to ensure inclusion quality. Data were analyzed through the extraction of article characteristics, research design, educational level, science domain, SPS instruments, major findings, and pedagogical mechanisms. The findings indicate that most studies reported significant enhancement of SPS following the implementation of PjBL, with the most frequently improved dimensions being observation (64%), classification (36%), experimental planning (50%), hypothesis formulation (36%), and communication (29%). Supporting factors for effective implementation included the integration of local contexts (ethnoscience), the use of interactive digital media (e.g., comics, Lectora applications), validation of learning materials, teacher scaffolding, and student collaboration, whereas studies reporting non-significant effects were mainly constrained by poor adherence to PjBL syntax and limited project duration. Overall, the results affirm that PjBL holds strong potential for enhancing SPS across various areas of science learning, particularly when supported by coherent pedagogical mechanisms, consistent instructional design, sufficient teacher facilitation, and the use of contextualized media to maximize its educational effectiveness.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented at Rama Sejahtera Junior High School in Makassar with the aim of facilitating teachers' digital literacy and pedagogical competencies through the use of Edpuzzle as an interactive learning medium. The community service activities used the Participatory Action Research method, which included observation, execution, and evaluation with a focus on introducing the main features of Edpuzzle and its application in learning practices. Teachers were trained to create interactive learning videos equipped with questions and notes that encourage student engagement. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' ability to develop teaching media and enthusiasm to apply it in the classroom. This program supports the digital transformation of education through innovative and engaging learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology requires science teachers to innovate and utilize Arduino Uno as an interactive learning medium to increase student motivation and understanding of abstract concepts. This community service activity aims to improve the professional competence of 24 science teachers in Maros through a three-day hands-on workshop that includes concept socialization, basic programming training, and sensor/actuator assembly. The results showed a significant increase in participants' cognitive understanding of 68.5% (from 42.0 to 71.8), and the creation of 8 functional digital teaching media prototypes from each group (3 participants each). This success proves that practice-based training is effective in empowering teachers to transform science concepts into digital practical tools, thereby independently improving teachers' professional competence in Technology Literacy and Coding Skills and supporting STEM Learning.

Abstract

Keterampilan argumentasi adalah salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk menstimulus keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam menghadapi tantangan di abad 21. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan argumentasi mahasiswa perlu dianalisis untuk mengethaui sejau mana keterampilan argumentasi mahasiswa dan apa penyebabnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas keterampilan berargumen mahasiswa pada topik tekanan hidrostatik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain survei cross-sectional dengan metode survei atau tes satu kali. Penelitian ini melibatkan 45 mahasiswa dari sebuah universitas negeri di Sulawesi Selatan yang telah menerima pengajaran materi tekanan hidrostatik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik sampling acak dengan instrumen tes berbasis esai. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kualitas keterampilan berargumen mahasiswa masih berada pada level 1 dan level 2. Persentase mahasiswa yang memiliki keterampilan berargumen pada level 1 adalah 26,66% dan pada level 2 adalah 73,33%, sementara persentase mahasiswa yang memiliki keterampilan berargumen pada level 4, level 5, dan level 6 adalah 0%. Secara keseluruhan, keterampilan berargumen mahasiswa di salah satu  universitas negeri di Sulawesi Selatan masih dianggap rendah. Oleh karena itu, perlu direncanakan dan diterapkan suatu pembelajaran yang dapat melatihkan keterampilab argumentasi mahasiswa. Argumentation skills are one of the skills needed to stimulate critical thinking skills in facing challenges in the 21st century. Therefore, students' argumentation skills need to be analyzed to find out the extent of students' argumentation skills and what causes them. This study aims to analyze the quality of students' argumentation skills on the topic of hydrostatic pressure. The research adopts a cross-sectional survey design using a one-shot survey or test. The study involved 45 students from a public university in South Sulawesi who had received instruction on hydrostatic pressure material. Data collection was conducted using a random sampling technique with an essay-based test instrument. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive analysis. The results indicate that the quality of students' argumentation skills remains at level 1 and level 2. The percentage of students who have argumentation skills at level 1 is 26.66% and argumentation skills at level 2 is 73.33% while the percentage of students who have argumentation skills at level 4, level 5, and level 5 is 0%. Overall, students' argumentative skills at a state university in South Sulawesi are still considered low. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and implement learning that can train students' argumentative skills.
