Abstract

Workers are not only at risk of suffering from communicable and non-communicable diseases but workers can suffer from occupational diseases and / or work-related diseases. One of the occupational diseases found in PT. Jakarta Cakratunggal Steel Mills is an ARI in 2017 it shows that the incidence of ARI tends to fluctuate with the highest incidence rate in November with 51 workers showing symptoms of ARI in the production unit. The purpose of this study was to describe the risk factors for symptoms of ARI among workers in the production unit of PT. Jakarta Cakratunggal Steel Mills. This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional method. The population in this study were all workers in the production unit with a total of 117 workers. Sampling was done by simple random sampling and found a sample of 91 workers. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study, it was found that most of the respondents experienced mild ARI symptoms (41.8%) moderate ARI symptoms (58.2%), aged 31-40 years who experienced mild ARI symptoms (51.6%), the highest working period was 9 -16 years (38.5%) with most of them working in the steel melting unit (52.7%), most of the length of work is 8 hours / day (87.9%), the behavior of using PPE is not complete (56.0%) . The conclusion of this study is that most of the respondents experienced moderate ARI symptoms and the behavior of using Personal Protection Equipment was not good. The suggestion from this research is that workers pay more attention to K3 in doing their work.

Abstract

Of the 34 Health center areas, the incidence was found in eleven Puskesmas areas (1.54%) in 2017 as endemic areas. Based on data from the Banjarnegara District Health Office (2015), four sub-districts were declared as endemic areas. Subdistricts that investigated were 61 cases in Banjarmangu Subdistrict, 11 cases in Purwonegoro Subdistrict, 7 cases in Kalibening Subdistrict, and 4 cases in Purworejo Klampok. This study aims to determine the effect of the physical environment, on the perception of malaria endemic local community in Banjarnegara District, determine the effect of mosquito species on the perception of malaria endemic areas, Analyze the influence of the physical environment and mosquito species on community perception. This research is an explorative analytic. The total sampling of respondents was 45 malaria positive people at four sampling stations. The results of research conducted on malaria endemic areas of Banjarnegara Regency were two factors from the physical environment for the perception of the community in malaria endemic areas, namely humidity and wind speed. Mosquito species will not affect the community, but from the results of the spread of the number of species of Anopheles mosquitoes that found the station affected by the highest malaria incidence, namely in the Banjarmangu Subdistrict with a height varying between 500-1000masl which is a suitable height for Anopheles mosquito habitat as the main vector malaria.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by the Tuberculosis germ (Mycobacterium Tuberculosis). Tuberculosis is included in 10 environment- based infectious diseases in the 3rd rank in the working area of the Punggelan 1 Health Center. The purpose of this study is to find out the overview of knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of TB patients towards the disease, prevention and treatment of TB in the work area of UPTD Pukesmas Punggelan 1. This study is a descriptive research with a cross sectional method and by interview method with a sample of 47 respondents. The variables studied were the characteristics of the respondents (age, gender, education, occupation) , home condition of the patient as well as knowledge, attitude and behavior. This research was carried out in May-June 2024, located in the work area of the UPTD Punggelan 1 Health Center. The results of the study showed that the age characteristics of the respondents were most commonly found in the adult age category (1) 76.6%, male 61.7%, low education level 80.9%, the type of work the majority of workers 34.0%, and the condition of the patient's home with the unhealthy category of 87.2%. Meanwhile, the respondents' knowledge about tuberculosis and prevention and treatment was in the good category of 83.0%, the respondent's attitude was classified as good 89.4%, and the respondent's behavior was good 93.6% The conclusion of this study is that the knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of the largest respondents are in the good category, but there are still many respondents' houses with unhealthy house categories. The Punggelan 1 Health Center needs to carry out follow-up programs to increase awareness of the importance of a healthy home environment in the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis as well as conduct routine monitoring and periodically evaluate the programs that have been running to ensure their effectiveness.
