Abstract

Background: Technological innovations have transformed education by integrating digital tools and constructivist principles, fostering interactive and adaptive learning environments. Despite these advancements, challenges persist, particularly in hands-on subjects like media production, where traditional models often fail to bridge theory and practice.Aims: This study proposed the doing knowledge online learning model, designed to enhance media production education through active learning and social interaction. Methods: To evaluate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed model, the ADDIE Model was used as the instructional design framework, and a quasi-experimental design was employed for its implementation. A total of 80 students were assigned to two groups: the experimental group using the doing knowledge online learning model and the control group using the conventional learning model. Result: Results indicated that experts rated the model with a 93% agreement, classifying it as "very good," indicating its high suitability for educational use. Additionally, students who learned with the doing knowledge online learning model had significantly better learning performance than those who learned with the conventional learning model. Moreover, even when categorized by high and low prior knowledge, students in the doing knowledge online learning model consistently outperformed their peers in the conventional learning group. Conclusion: The doing knowledge online learning model is a valid and effective approach for improving students' learning outcomes in media production and has the potential to support more engaging and practice-oriented online learning.

Abstract

Formal education must adapt to the needs of the job market and integrate problem-solving skills with local wisdom. This is essential for producing high-quality human resources that remain grounded in the values of Pancasila, particularly in supporting the vision of the Merdeka Curriculum. Problem-solving is one of the key skills required to navigate the complexities of the modern workplace and community life. Concepts of local wisdom, such as consensus-building (musyawarah mufakat), rooted in the fourth principle of Pancasila, form the foundation for the development of the Talking Together Learning Model. This model combines a constructivist paradigm with local values to shape students’ character, fostering a commitment to consensus-building, while enhancing analytical and problem-solving skills. The rise of social media has created a new social order that is beginning to move away from direct social interaction and sustained discussion. The decline in creativity in finding solutions to problems is a key focus of this community service project. Consequently, this Community Service (PKM) activity was designed with the aim of providing training to teachers at the one of elementary school in Gresik to enhance their creativity in finding solutions through the Talking Together Learning Model, thereby improving the effectiveness of learning and contributing to the development of high-quality human resources within the elementary education sector.

Abstract

Background: Rapid advances in digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming the educational landscape, particularly at the junior high school level. This stage is crucial for developing students' critical thinking skills, fostering independent learning, and shaping their character. During this transitional phase of cognitive and social development, students need intensive mentorship, meaningful interactions, and learning experiences that accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles.Aims: This study aimed to better equip teachers to implement more personalized, effective, and meaningful English vocabulary learning experiences through the AI-based Neo-Sorogan model.  Ultimately, it aimed to enhance the quality of human resources in education and prepare them to address 21st-century challenges. Methods: A mixed-methods research design integrating quantitative and qualitative techniques was employed, using paired comparisons, a Likert scale, and descriptive statistics. Results: The study's results demonstrated a significant improvement in vocabulary skills, with pre-test scores averaging (M = 64.28, SD = 8.47) and post-test scores averaging (M = 78.63, SD = 7.21). The analysis yielded a t-value of -11.98 with 42 degrees of freedom (t(42) = -11.98, p < 0.001), indicating strong statistical significance and a robust effect size (d = 1.83). Furthermore, participant satisfaction was categorized as high. Conclusion: This study showed participants' enthusiasm improved understanding of the AI-based Neo-Sorogan model, focusing on individualized learning and interaction. They designed subject-specific activities and rated their satisfaction at an average of 4.59 out of 5, reflecting their increased willingness to implement AI strategies in the classroom.
