Abstract

The main problem addressed in this study is the low level of ground passing skills among 14–16-year-old students at the Boxi Lombok Ku Soccer School, which is caused by monotonous and conventional training methods. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of one-touch small-sided games training on improving ground passing skills and to measure the extent of the improvement. The method used was a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 30 players, all of whom were included in the sample using total sampling. The instrument used was Bobby Charlton’s stop-passing test. Training was conducted three times a week for six weeks. Data analysis employed a paired t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an average score increase from 12.5 on the pretest to 18.9 on the posttest. The t-test yielded a calculated t-value of 15.782 with a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference. Cohen’s d effect size of 4.16 (very large effect) and an N-gain of 0.67 (moderate category) further support these findings. In conclusion, one-touch small-sided games have a significant effect on improving ground passing skills and can serve as an effective alternative training variation for young soccer players.
