Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas ekstrak etanol tonik bunga cempaka putih (Magnolia alba) terhadap pertumbuhan rambut pada Kelinci (Oryctolagus cuniculus) dan menentukan konsentrasi optimalnya. Metode eksperimental berdasarkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) digunakan dengan lima kelompok perlakuan: konrol negative (aquadest), kontrol positif (Regrou), dan tonik ekstrak bunga cempaka putih dengan konsentrasi 3%, 6%, dan 12%. Preparat tonik diuji sifat fisik dan stabilitasnya, kemudian diaplikasikan secara topical pada punggung Kelinci selama 28 hari. Pengukuran panjang rambut dilakukan setiap minggu dan dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA dua arah berulang. Hasil evaluasi fisik menunjukkan bahwa semua formula homogen, stabil, dan memenuhi standar pH kulit. Pada minggu ke-4, formula 3% menghasilkan pertumbuhan rambut rata-rata tertinggi (1,97 ± 0,49 cm), melebihi kontrol positif (1,87 ± 0,71 cm). Penigkatan konsentrasi (6% dan 12%) justru mengurangi efektivitas karena peningkatan viskositas dan potensi saturasi reseptor. Uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa faktor waktu memiliki pengaruh yang sangat signifikan (p < 0,001). Kesimpulannya, ekstrak bunga cempaka putih 3% adalah yang palig optimal dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai sediaan tonik rambut alami. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the tonic ethanol extract of white cempaka flowers (Magnolia alba) on hair growth in rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and determine the optimal concentration. An experimental method based on a Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used with five treatment groups: negative control (aquadest), positive control (Regrou), and white cempaka extract tonic with concentrations 3%, 6%, and 12%. The tonic preparation was tested for its physical properties and stability, followed by topical application on the rabbit’s back for 28 days. Hair length measurements were taken weekly and analyzed using a two-way repeated-measure ANOVA. The results of the physical evaluation show that all formulas are homogeneous, stable and meet skin pH standards. At week 4, the 3% formula produced the highest average hair growth (1,97 ± 0,49 cm), exceeding the positive control (1,87 ± 0,71 cm). Increasing the concentration (6% and 12%) actually reduces effectiveness due to increased viscosity and potential receptor saturation. The ANOVA test shows that the time factor has a very significant effect (p < 0,001). In conclusion, 3% white cempaka flower extract is most optimal and has the potential to be developed as a natural hair tonic preparation
