Abstract

Social media has become an important part of teenagers' lives and can be used as an effective means of health promotion. At the beginning of 2025, Indonesia had around 143 million social media user accounts, equivalent to 50.2% of the population. Social media is also increasingly used as a source of information, including through videos, news, and educational content. This situation presents an opportunity for Karang Taruna to develop health promotion activities that match the characteristics and communication habits of young people. This article aims to discuss the use of social media as a means of health promotion for teenagers through the Karang Taruna organization. The method used is descriptive with a community empowerment approach through education and the use of digital media. Social media can be used to convey information on balanced nutrition, physical activity, reproductive health, mental health, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle habits. However, its use needs to be accompanied by digital literacy so that teenagers can distinguish between accurate health information and hoaxes.

Abstract

The development of information technology in healthcare services encourages hospitals to implement information systems that can support fast, accurate, effective, and integrated data management and services. The Hospital Management Information System (SIM-RS) is an important tool to support service processes, from patient registration, medical records, clinical services, pharmacy, laboratory, to reporting and decision-making. RSAD Level III Brawijaya Surabaya is a hospital located at Jalan Kesatriyan No. 17, Sawunggaling, Wonokromo District, Surabaya, offering various top services such as phacoemulsification, urology endoscopy, 160-slice CT Scan, 4D ultrasound, medical check-ups, and echocardiography. The use of Hospital Information Systems (SIM-RS) is becoming increasingly important along with the obligation to implement Electronic Medical Records (RME) based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 24 of 2022. This regulation emphasizes the security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of medical record data. Additionally, EMRs in healthcare facilities are guided to be integrated with the SATUSEHAT platform.  This article discusses the role of SIM-RS in improving service quality at RSAD Level III Brawijaya Surabaya, especially in terms of service efficiency, information availability, patient safety, data management, and quality evaluation.

Abstract

Waiting time is one of the important indicators in assessing the quality of healthcare services. A digital queue system was developed to improve the efficiency of the registration process and reduce patient waiting time. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the digital queue system in reducing service waiting time at Jagir Health Center in Surabaya. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest setup. The research sample consisted of 60 patients divided into groups before and after the implementation of the digital queue system. Data were collected through observation of waiting times and patient experience questionnaires. Analysis was carried out descriptively and analytically using paired t-tests or Wilcoxon tests depending on the data distribution. The simulation results show that the average waiting time before implementing the digital queue system was 62.4 minutes, while after implementing the digital queue system it dropped to 38.7 minutes. The analysis results indicate that there is a significant difference in waiting time before and after implementing the digital queue system (p<0.001). Implementing a digital queue system has the potential to improve service efficiency and provide a better service experience for patients. The system needs to be supported by human resource readiness, technology infrastructure, and public socialization.

Abstract

The use of information technology has become an important strategy in improving the quality of hospital services. The Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS) can help integrate processes like registration, medical records, medical services, administration, and reporting. Randegansari Husada Hospital is a Class D general hospital located in Driyorejo District, Gresik Regency, East Java. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, this hospital has 70 beds, consisting of 3 VIP beds, 10 Class I, 10 Class II, 30 Class III, as well as beds for ICU, NICU, isolation, perinatology, and other services. The study results show that Randegansari Husada Hospital has implemented an Hospital Information System (HIS) called Khanza, which supports the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), especially in outpatient services. The system is used from the registration process to recording patient services. Implementing the information system can improve the speed of administrative work, data accuracy, ease of information retrieval, and report generation. However, optimizing the system still requires support from human resources, technology infrastructure, network stability, and ongoing evaluation. Data from the Ministry of Health's National Quality Indicators shows that in March 2026, Randegansari Husada General Hospital recorded hand hygiene compliance at 80.42%, PPE usage compliance at 81%, patient identification compliance at 81.11%, outpatient waiting time at 80.33%, and patient satisfaction at 0% according to the reported data.

Abstract

The use of the Community Health Center Management Information System (SIMPUS) is part of the digital transformation of primary healthcare services, aimed at improving the effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and quality of patient data management. Jagir Community Health Center in Surabaya is a healthcare facility owned by the Surabaya City Government that has implemented an information system to support administrative and healthcare services. This study aimed to analyze the effect of SIMPUS utilization on the efficiency of outpatient administrative services at Jagir Community Health Center, Surabaya. A descriptive-analytical study was conducted using secondary data, service standard documents, community satisfaction surveys, and literature related to healthcare digitalization. The results showed that SIMPUS utilization can accelerate patient data retrieval and validation, reduce repetitive documentation, integrate service information, and support queue management and medical record systems. The service waiting time decreased from 62.4 minutes before digitalization to 38.7 minutes after digitalization, representing a reduction of 23.7 minutes (p<0.001). These findings indicate that SIMPUS contributes to improving the efficiency of outpatient administrative services.high public satisfaction can't be directly taken as causal proof that SIMPUS is the sole factor improving efficiency. It's necessary to measure service times, staff workload, input error rates, and compare before and after using SIMPUS to prove the impact quantitatively.
