Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of workload and the work environment on the performance of civil servants at the Ministry of Cooperatives. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a survey method with 82 respondents via questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the aid of SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that both workload and the work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The coefficient of determination value of 0.417 reveals that these two variables explain 41.7% of the variation in performance, while the remainder is influenced by other factors. These findings underscore the importance of managing workload effectively and maintaining a conducive work environment to support the achievement of organizational goals and foster sustainable productivity improvements within the public sector.
