Abstract

Child- and Women-Friendly Village (DRPPA) initiatives require strengthening two key environments: children's literacy and family resilience. This community service activity aims to describe the implementation and contribution of a reading-corner revitalization program and a couples' seminar in supporting a child- and women-friendly village in Dukuh Jotang, Kradenan Village. The activities were carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through assessment, planning, action, and evaluation/reflection stages conducted together with the community. The reading-corner revitalization involved rearranging the space, adding book collections, introducing a borrowing system, and promoting reading culture, while the couples' seminar carried the theme “Building a Harmonious Family through Positive Parenting and the Fulfillment of Rights within the Household.” The results show improved facility conditions and increased use of the reading corner by children, as well as active participant engagement in the seminar through discussion and family reflection sessions. Both programs complement each other in strengthening children's literacy environments and family resilience, although their sustainability still requires continued community involvement after the completion of the KKN program.
