Abstract

This design and development study aims to: 1) produce problem based interactive learning media for fourth grade Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) instruction; 2) determine the practicality of the developed media; and 3) determine the responses of teachers and students to the media. The research method followed the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: 1) Analyze, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. This study produced a problem based interactive learning media product in the form of an application to assist students in understanding the topic of magnets. Data were collected through teacher and student evaluation questionnaires, which were subsequently analyzed by converting quantitative scores into qualitative categories. The practicality test results showed an 86% rating in the teacher evaluation, categorized as “very suitable” or highly practical. Meanwhile, the student practicality test resulted in an 82% rating, also categorized as “very suitable”. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the problem based interactive learning media is highly practical and suitable for use in fourth grade IPAS instruction.
