Christian ethics form an essential foundation for shaping the character and direction of pastoral leadership that reflects God’s will. Pastoral leadership is not only concerned with ministerial competence and ecclesiastical authority, but also demands integrity that ensures consistency between words and actions. The issue of integrity is becoming increasingly important because inconsistencies between teachings, behaviour and leadership practices can undermine a pastor’s credibility and the congregation’s trust in the church’s ministry. This study aims to analyse, from a theological perspective, the relationship between Christian ethics, the nature of pastoral leadership and a pastor’s integrity within the context of contemporary church ministry. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach. The findings indicate that Christian ethics form the theological foundation of pastoral leadership, as they shape the character, morality, and integrity of the pastor in accordance with God’s will and the example of Christ. The nature of pastoral leadership is found in the paradigm of Christ as the Shepherd who knows, protects, serves, and gives Himself for the flock; thus, pastoral authority must be realised as a responsibility of service, not domination. A pastor’s integrity is the actualisation of Christian ethics through the unity of faith and action, thereby fostering pastoral credibility, building the congregation’s trust, and supporting the church’s sustainable spiritual growth.
