Abstract

Family dysfunction, often triggering severe emotional distress, is linked to a decline in adolescents’ resilience, affecting their personal well-being and relational support. This study examined the effectiveness of hypnosis-oriented counseling in improving the resilience of adolescents from dysfunctional families. Using a single-case A-B-A design, two adolescents participated in five individual counseling sessions focused on emotional release, therapeutic suggestion, mental imagery, anchoring, and self-hypnosis. Repeated measurements before, during, and after the intervention showed improvements in participants’ resilience, with gains maintained during the follow-up phase. The findings indicate that hypnosis-oriented counseling is a promising approach for strengthening resilience among adolescents experiencing family-related distress. Further research is needed to examine long-term effectiveness in larger and more diverse samples.
