Abstract

The fashion industry is rapidly growing but also causes environmental harm, such as textile waste, the use of synthetic materials, and pollution from fabric dyes. This study aims to design a hijab featuring Batik Pamekasan motifs using digital printing on recycled fabric as an eco-friendly fashion alternative. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with data collected through observation, literature review, and documentation. Findings indicate that digital printing can produce more detailed patterns, sharper colors, and a production process that is more efficient and uses less water compared to conventional methods. Recycled eco-voile made from rPET also proved comfortable to wear and supports the concept of sustainable fashion. Applying Batik Pamekasan motifs to the hijab serves as a form of preserving Madurese local culture through a contemporary fashion product. This study is expected to contribute an innovation in fashion product development that integrates cultural value, aesthetics, and environmental concern.
