Abstract

The development of a biology magazine focused on viruses was motivated by students' lack of understanding of viruses and the lack of teaching materials for virus topics at Kartikatama Metro High School. The purpose of this research is to develop a biology magazine about viruses, analyze the validity of the developed product, and assess the responses of teachers and students to the product. The method used in this study is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The test subjects in this study were a biology teacher and ten students from class X Science at Kartikatama Metro High School. The data analysis techniques used in this study include both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The data collection instruments consisted of an open-ended questionnaire for students and a closed-ended questionnaire for teachers. The product validation results indicated that the developed teaching materials were considered "highly valid" for testing, with 93% approval from material experts and 85% from media experts. Additionally, the trial responses to the product were rated as "very good," with a 97.7% response rate from the teachers and 97.4% from the students.

Abstract

Fungi are organisms that interfere with the growth of plants such as musk oranges, soybeans, wheat, and tomatoes. The purpose of this study was to examine the potential for pathogenic fungi that can damage cultivated plants such as kaffir lime, wheat, soybeans and tomatoes because all plants that have been infected with the disease will not be able to carry out physiological activities perfectly, so that these plants will experience a decrease in quality and quantity. production. This research is an exploratory descriptive study by identifying the fungus on kaffir lime leaves, soybean seeds, wheat leaves and tomato leaves with macroscopic and microscopic identification methods and blotter test. The fungus on kaffir lime leaves was identified as Colletrotichum sp. and Nigrospora sp. (non-OPTK), while in wheat, namely Tilletia Indica (OPTK category A1), and in tomato plants, namely Fusarium oxysporium and Curvularia lunata (OPTK). In soybean seeds obtained Peronospora manshurica, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus and Penicillium chrysogenum.   Keywords:  Cultivated plants, Pathogenic fungi, Quarantined Plant Destruction Organisms.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of Bacillus licheniformis required in the formation of liquid sugar from cassava waste, the value of sugar and value starch contained in degraded cassava skin waste. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatment concentration of cassava leaf extract (Manihot utilissima Pohl.), Ie 0 concentration, 1.5 ml concentration, 2.5 ml concentration and 3.5 ml of concentration B. licheneformis. Data were analyzed using analisis (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's range test (DMRT) with a 5% confidence level. The results of the study showed that all treatments had a significant effect on the administration of B. licheniformis concentrations. Treatment using 1.5 ml B. licheniformis concentration on cassava skin substrate weighing 1 gram after Duncan's test range (DMRT) with 5% confidence level resulted Reduction sugar value of 6.07%.

Abstract

Angso Duo Market is the largest traditional market in the city of Jambi, with an area of ± 5 Ha. The amount of waste produced by Angso Duo market every day is around 105 tons per day with a ratio of 70% biodegradable waste, 25% recycled (organic and paper) and 5% other waste. Of the 75% of waste that is around 60% is waste in the form of vegetables, most of which are mustard and cabbage. Vegetable waste has great potential to be used as organic fertilizer because it has good and complex nutrients such as protein, fat carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamins A, B and C, folic acid, fiber, water and sodium. The advantage of liquid organic fertilizer is that it contains enough nitrogen as a constituent of plant protein and chlorophyll. The results showed 6 types of bacteria namely Planococus, Neisseria, Halobacter, Azomonas, Azotobacter and Bruccella which were formulated into liquid fertilizers with a basic substrate of vegetable cabbage and mustard waste. Then tested the ability of bacteria to dissolve nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium as potential bacteria as liquid fertilizer
