Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in Kertayasa Village, Cijulang District, Pangandaran Regency, as a strategic step in following up on the formulation of the community service program of Universitas Padjadjaran in early 2025. The main problem raised was the economic stagnation in the fisheries sector due to the slow growth rate of gourami fish and the high risk of mortality due to disease, although the enthusiasm for cultivation in the community remains high. As an adaptive solution, this activity encourages commodity diversification through the development of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) which has fast-growing characteristics and better environmental resilience. The implementation method was carried out through a participatory qualitative approach, including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with BUMDes administrators and the village government, as well as the application of SWOT analysis to formulate a roadmap for sustainable business development. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to increase the managerial capacity of fisheries groups and strengthen the village's institutional commitment in building the "Nila Kertayasa" brand as a superior product integrated with the economic ecosystem of the Green Canyon tourist village.
