Abstract

Tatah Mesjid Village has the potential for wetland biological resources in the form of various types of plants that can be used as natural dyes; however, their use in developing value-added products remains limited. Sasirangan, a traditional textile from South Kalimantan, also requires innovation to remain relevant, environmentally friendly, and competitive in the market. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the Tatah Mesjid community in developing natural-dye ecoprint sasirangan scarves through the SCOPTAS (Scarf Sasirangan Ecoprint Tatah Mesjid) program. The implementation method consisted of socialization, training, and evaluation stages. Training activities were conducted through material presentations and hands-on practice, covering fabric preparation, utilization of local plants as natural dye sources, motif arrangement, and the steaming process. Evaluation was carried out using a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The results showed an increase in participants’ average knowledge scores from 82.2 in the pre-test to 90.6 in the post-test. In addition, participants were able to produce ecoprint sasirangan scarves with diverse natural motifs and aesthetic value.
