Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of interest in becoming a teacher, entrepreneurial motivation, and career prospects on students’ decisions to choose the Economic Education Study Program. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consists of students from the Economic Education Study Program, with a sample of 96 respondents selected via stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS. The results indicate that interest in becoming a teacher does not significantly influence students’ decisions to choose the Economic Education Study Program (t = 0.596; sig. = 0.553). Entrepreneurial motivation also does not significantly influence students’ decisions to choose the Economic Education Study Program (t = 1.155; sig. = 0.251). Meanwhile, career prospects have a positive and significant influence on students’ decisions to choose the Economic Education Study Program (t = 9.056; sig. = 0.000). Simultaneously, interest in becoming a teacher, entrepreneurial motivation, and career prospects significantly influence students’ decisions to choose the Economic Education Study Program (F = 52.378; sig. = 0.000), with a coefficient of determination of 63.1%.
