Anemia among pregnant women remains a significant public health problem that may negatively affect both maternal and fetal health. One of the main causes of anemia during pregnancy is iron deficiency, which is influenced by low adherence to Iron Tablet (TTD) consumption and inadequate understanding of nutritional requirements during pregnancy. Improving maternal knowledge through health education is essential to encourage behavioral changes in preventing anemia. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of local food-based nutrition education media on Iron Tablet consumption adherence and anemia prevention among pregnant women in the working area of Pauh Kambar Primary Health Care Center. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The study population consisted of all pregnant women in the working area of Pauh Kambar Primary Health Care Center, with a sample of 35 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires measuring Iron Tablet consumption adherence and hemoglobin level examinations before and after the intervention using local food-based nutrition education media. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with statistical tests at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed an increase in Iron Tablet consumption adherence after receiving local food-based nutrition education. Furthermore, an improvement in anemia status was observed, indicated by increased hemoglobin levels among pregnant women after the intervention. Statistical analysis demonstrated a significant effect of local food-based nutrition education media on Iron Tablet consumption adherence and anemia prevention among pregnant women (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that local food-based nutrition education media is effective as a health education strategy to improve Iron Tablet consumption adherence and support anemia prevention among pregnant women.
