Abstract

Agriculture remains a crucial sector for rural livelihoods, and long bean cultivation is one of the important commodities in Central Kalimantan. This research was conducted on Pak Imam’s land in Sei Asam Village, Kapuas Hilir District, to examine cultivation techniques, cost structure, and economic feasibility. Farming activities include seed selection, land preparation, planting, maintenance, fertilization, pest and disease control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. Most practices follow recommended guidelines, with minor deviations in pruning and fertilization. Cost analysis integrates explicit and implicit expenses, providing a comprehensive view of resource allocation. The findings demonstrate that long bean farming generates positive returns, achieves profitability, and meets feasibility criteria based on the R/C ratio. Overall, the enterprise is economically viable and sustainable, with potential for improvement through more efficient input management.
