Abstract

Data jenis burung dikumpulkan dengan metode look and see. AbstractThe quality and function of several lake in South Tangerang has decreased due to the use and converted of land functions that threaten the biodiversity of both flora and fauna in the region. A study of the bird community and its role as a bio-indicator in some cases is needed to provide an overview of the situability in supporting bird life. Data obtained by direct observation using look ang see method. Data on bird species obtained from Gintung lake, Sasak lake, Bungur lake and Pamulang lake in South Tangerang were analyzed for abundance and similarity index calculated for their species. Bird species data were tabulated and analyzed using the bird community index to see the quality of the environment. The highest type of diversity is found in Gintung lake (24 families, 30 genera, and 38 species). There are 16 species of birds that have the highest frequency of encounter in the fourth place (100%). Bungur and Pamulang lake have the highest similarity with a value of 0.78. Gintung lake has the highest bird community index value with a value of 68, Sasak lake and Bungur lake which scored 60.4 and Pamulang lake with a value of 55.2 including the middle category.

Abstract

Green space which is available in Jakarta could be used as a birds habitat. The study of the feeding guild may be a useful indicator of the environment disturbance. Therefore, this study was expected to provide information on the bird composition by using the feeding guild as consideration in managing green space in Jakarta. Bird species data obtained from research during May to July 2014 were grouped based on the response to the feeding guild. Bird species were grouped into 12 feeding guilds and every species could only had one feeding guild. Based on studies in 21 green space in Jakarta, 162 species of birds were found with the insectivorous birds in tree canopy (36 species or 22,22%) and fish eater (28 species; 17,28%) as the most dominant feeding guild. Keywords: bird, DKI Jakarta, feed, green space, guild

Abstract

Ethylene glycol (EG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) are hazardous compounds if ingested by the human body. Testing conducted by the Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPM) identified contamination of EG and DEG in glycerin and propylene glycol, which are utilized as solubility enhancers in syrup-based pharmaceuticals. This study aims to analyze EG and DEG contamination in children’s syrup drug samples using a Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) instrument. This study presents an analytical method for detecting EG and DEG contamination. Based on BPOM regulations governing the control a determination of EG and DEG. Several syrup drug samples, which are listed in the BPOM drug withdrawal list under Number HM.01.1.2.11.22.240, were each weighed at 5 grams, transferred into a 50 mL volumetric flask, 30 mL of methanol was added, and the mixture was sonicated for 5 minutes. Subsequently, solvent was added up to the calibration mark. Five out of eight samples were found to contain EG and DEG at concentrations of less than 0.1%. Validation of the GCMS method for EG and DEG compounds yielded accuracy values with recovery rates between 98% and 101%. The acquisition test results produced a relative standard deviation (RSD) value of 0.87. The linearity test showed a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.955. The limit of detection (LOD) for EG was 0.26 ng/mg, and for DEG it was 0.51 ng/mg. The limit of quantification (LOQ) for EG was 0.86 ng/mg, and for DEG it was 1.69 ng/mg. This validation indicates that the analytical method exhibits high accuracy and sensitivity.
