Abstract

This study aims to analyze library digitalization as a framework for Continuous Improvement in improving the quality of sustainable literacy after school accreditation at SMP Negeri 20 Surabaya through the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, head librarian, librarian, and teacher. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña through data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that library digitalization has been implemented through all stages of the PDCA cycle. The Plan stage involved planning digital facilities and collections, the Do stage involved the use of INLISLite for collection management and library services, the Check stage involved evaluation and utilization of service data, while the Act stage involved maintenance, problem solving, and service development adjustments. However, monitoring has not been conducted regularly, and evaluation results have not been consistently used as a basis for subsequent service development. The novelty of this study lies in applying PDCA to analyze library digitalization as a Continuous Improvement mechanism for sustaining literacy quality in the post-accreditation context.
