Abstract

Introduction: This study analyzes the effect of Employee Engagement, Transactional Leadership, Occupational Safety and Health, and Compensation on Employee Performance at PT Cebong Kayuindo. Employee performance is a key factor in achieving organizational goals, particularly in the wood processing industry, where productivity, work quality, and employee responsibility are essential. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 130 employees of PT Cebong Kayuindo using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 through outer model testing, inner model testing, and hypothesis testing. Results: The results indicate that Employee Engagement has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Transactional Leadership also has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance. Compensation has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, while Occupational Safety and Health has a positive but insignificant effect. These findings indicate that employee engagement, effective leadership, and appropriate compensation play important roles in improving employee performance, whereas the implementation of occupational safety and health tends to improve employee performance but has not shown a statistically significant effect. Conclusion and suggestion: This study concludes that Employee Engagement, Transactional Leadership, and Compensation significantly improve employee performance at PT Cebong Kayuindo, while Occupational Safety and Health has a positive but not statistically significant effect. Therefore, PT Cebong Kayuindo should strengthen employee engagement, implement effective transactional leadership, maintain a fair compensation system, and continuously improve occupational safety and health programs to support employee performance. This study contributes to the human resource management literature by integrating psychological, leadership, occupational safety, and compensation factors in the wood-processing industry, which has received limited empirical attention. Keywords: Employee Engagement, Employee Performance, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Transactional Leadership.
