This study aims to analyze the effect of work-life balance and employee transfer on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at the Central Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT). This study employed a quantitative approach using explanatory research. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 124 respondents selected using a probability sampling technique. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that work-life balance has a significant negative effect on job satisfaction, while employee transfer has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and work-life balance also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In contrast, employee transfer does not have a significant direct effect on employee performance. The mediation analysis shows that job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between work-life balance and employee performance through a competitive/inconsistent partial mediation pattern. Meanwhile, job satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between employee transfer and employee performance. These findings demonstrate that job satisfaction plays an important role as a psychological mechanism linking organizational policies to employee performance, particularly in the implementation of employee transfer policies at the Central Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes.
