Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the singing method and students’ learning outcomes in sharf learning at MTs Muallimin UNIVA Medan. A quantitative approach with an experimental method was employed. The population consisted of 298 eighth-grade students, from which 150 students were selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The research instruments were examined for validity and reliability, while data analysis included a normality test and Spearman Rank correlation. The results showed that the 20 items measuring the singing method had rcount values ranging from 0.492 to 0.669, while the 15 learning-outcome test items had rcount values ranging from 0.296 to 0.580, with an rtable value of 0.157. The questionnaire produced a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.891371, while the learning-outcome test produced a KR-21 coefficient of 0.752527. The normality test indicated that variable X was normally distributed, whereas variable Y was not normally distributed. Spearman Rank analysis produced a correlation coefficient of 0.628311549, indicating a positive and moderately strong relationship. These findings suggest that the singing method can serve as a supportive instructional strategy for strengthening students’ mastery and retention of sharf patterns.
