ABSTRACT Biology laboratory activities provide a learning experience that allows students to interact directly with objects, procedures, and empirical evidence, yet such experiences are not necessarily interpreted in the same way by every learner. Differences in how students perceive laboratory implementation provide a basis for examining its relationship with learning outcomes. This study investigates the relationship between students’ perceptions of biology laboratory activities and the learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 16 Bone. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed involving 27 students from class XI.F4 selected through purposive sampling. Students’ perceptions were collected using a questionnaire, while learning outcomes were assessed through a biology content test. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality testing, linearity testing, Pearson Product Moment correlation, simple linear regression, and the coefficient of determination. Both students’ perceptions and learning outcomes were categorized as good. The relationship between the two variables was positive, with a correlation coefficient of 0.53 and a significance value of 0.004. The coefficient of determination of 0.29 indicates that students’ perceptions explained 29% of the variation in learning outcomes, while the remaining 71% was associated with factors outside the model. These findings position students’ perceived laboratory experience as one aspect associated with biology learning outcomes and provide a basis for evaluating laboratory-based learning with greater attention to students’ actual learning experiences.
