Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the influence of madrasah discipline culture and learning motivation on student character at a Private Islamic Senior High School in Mersam District, Batanghari. The research objectives were formulated in three points. The research locations were As Sulthon Islamic Senior High School in Kembang Paseban Village and Darussalam Sengkati Baru Islamic Senior High School in Mersam District. This research approach was quantitative. The sampling technique used total sampling, with a sample size of 94 students from a population of 124. In this study, inferential analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, supported by t- tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). This study yielded three conclusions: Discipline culture influences student character, with a calculated t value > t table (2.646 > 1.662) and a sig value < 0.05. Learning motivation influences student character, with a calculated t value > t table (17.148 > 1.662) and a sig value < 0.05. Discipline culture and learning motivation simultaneously influence student character, with a calculated f value (585.391) > f table (3.10), with a sig level of 0.000. The conclusion study is that the results of the hypothesis testing concluded that all three hypotheses were accepted, namely, there is an influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable, both partially and simultaneously. The implications of the study confirm that the integration of value habituation (discipline) and psychological drive (motivation) is an important foundation for the holistic development of student character
