Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the lack of optimal strengthening of character education through Pancasila student profiles for teachers in the field. The aims of this community service activity are to; 1) strengthen character and competence, 2) actively participate in planning active and sustainable learning, 3) develop skills, attitudes and knowledge, 4) solve problems in various learning situations, 5) be responsible and care about the surrounding situation and 6) respect learning so as to achieve educational goals. Based on the training that was carried out at SMA Negeri 7 Jambi City, this service activity received a positive response from the teachers who took part in this activity. This can be seen from the high enthusiasm of the teachers when participating in this training activity. The main thing that is done during the implementation of this service activity is that teachers who are training participants are asked to identify a problem related to character education through the Pancasila student profile. Then the teachers are given an understanding of the materials and problems related to strengthening character education. As feedback from this activity, the Education Coordinator and high school teachers said that they were willing to become target schools for various activities to improve the quality of education in their schools. The hope of the Jambi City Education Coordinator and the teachers at the Senior High School is that their school performance can continue to improve with the collaboration built with the Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Islamic State University.

Abstract

This study discussed about using Word Wall Strategy on students’ writing achievement at Islamic Boarding Senior High School An-Nur Muaro Jambi. The goals of the research are to find out the effect of Word Wall Strategy on Students’ writing achievement after being taught by using Word Wall Strategy and to find out significant different between students’ who are taught by using Word Wall Strategy and those who are not. This research method is quantitative research.Sample of the research were 60 students which experimental class was 30 students and control class 30 students. The data collection is used pre-test and post-test. The instrument for collecting data was a test. After analyzing the data, the writer got; (1) The students’ achievement in writing descriptive text by Word Wall Strategy got the mean 76.00 and standard deviation was 8.06; (2) The students’ achievement in writing descriptive text by using conventional method got the mean 62.47 and standard deviation was 7.30. The value of tobserved was 6.564 and that of ttable was 2.009. So the value of tobserved was higher than that of ttable. It means that there was significant effect of using Word Wall strategy on students’ achievement in writing descriptive text.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve teachers' competency in creating educational website-based learning evaluations using the Kahoot and Quizizz applications. The implementation method of this community service uses online and offline training with presentations and tutorials. The training was attended by 30 teachers from MI, MTs, and MA at the Al-Jauharen Islamic Boarding School in Jambi City. The evaluation instrument for this community service program used pre-test and post-test questionnaires which were then analyzed using percentage tests. The results of this community service activity indicate that there is an increase in the understanding of Al-Jauharen Madrasah teachers in Jambi City regarding creating educational website-based learning evaluations using the Kahoot and Quizizz applications. In addition, teachers are able to create learning evaluations using Kahoot and Quizizz for the subjects they teach.

Abstract

Objective: This study analyzes the pedagogical strategies of Akidah Akhlak teachers in integrating SDGs-based character education at Al-Jauharen Islamic Boarding School, Jambi City, focusing on discipline, honesty, and responsibility. Theoretical framework: The research is grounded in character education theory, value internalization, and contextual pedagogy, aligned with SDGs principles that emphasize inclusive, equitable, and value-oriented education. Literature review: Previous studies indicate that Akidah Akhlak learning remains largely cognitive and memorization-oriented, limiting effective character internalization, while empirical studies on teacher strategies in pesantren contexts and their linkage to SDGs are still limited. Method: This study employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach involving teachers, school leaders, and students, using interviews, observations, and documentation, analyzed through the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation. Results: Findings reveal that SDGs-oriented character integration is implemented through structured planning, teacher exemplification, value habituation, and reflective discussions rooted in students’ experiences and strengthened by pesantren culture; however, it remains insufficiently systematic, particularly in evaluation, and is constrained by time and students’ psychological factors. Implications: The study highlights the need for more reflective, contextual, and sustainable pedagogical strategies aligned with SDGs, ensuring that character values are internalized beyond normative understanding into real student behavior. Novelty: This research offers an empirical contribution by specifically examining SDGs-based character education integration strategies in Akidah Akhlak learning within a pesantren-based madrasah context, which remains underexplored.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the boarding school program in forming the religious character of students at SMP Insan Madani Jambi, to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors, and to analyze the forms of religious character developed through the program. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving the school principal, dormitory supervisors, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results show that the boarding school program is implemented through a structured 24-hour habituation system, including daily worship practices such as congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, Qiyamul Lail, Dhuha prayer, and character guidance through role modeling and continuous supervision. Supporting factors include a strong institutional vision, a conducive dormitory environment, comprehensive religious programs, and active involvement of educators. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors consist of limited human resources, students’ adaptation challenges, homesickness, and fatigue due to dense routines. The religious character formed includes discipline in worship, obedience, respect for teachers, self-control, honesty, responsibility, and social awareness based on Islamic values. It can be concluded that the boarding school program is effective in shaping students’ religious character, although improvements in human resources and program innovation are still needed to optimize the internalization of values.
