Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease characterized by blood pressure of ≥140/90 mmHg and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Warm water foot soak therapy with salt is a non-pharmacological intervention that may help reduce blood pressure by promoting relaxation and improving blood circulation. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) of warm water foot soak therapy with salt in reducing blood pressure among patients with hypertension. This study employed a descriptive case study design involving three patients with hypertension. The intervention was administered for 15–20 minutes once daily for three consecutive days. The results showed that all participants (100%) experienced a reduction in blood pressure. Systolic blood pressure decreased by 6.8%–8.5%, while diastolic blood pressure decreased by 7.0%–16.3%. In addition, participants reported reduced dizziness and neck pain, along with improved knowledge of hypertension management. Warm water foot soak therapy with salt can be used as an adjunctive non-pharmacological intervention to help control blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
