Abstract

This study examines the human dimension of digital transformation by exploring how Human Resource Management (HRM) strengthens employee adaptation in intelligent workplaces among service-sector employees in South Tangerang, Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative case study approach involving service-sector employees in South Tangerang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns related to employee adaptation and HRM practices. The findings indicate that HRM plays an important role in supporting employee adaptation through continuous learning programs, digital skill development, organizational communication, and supportive leadership. Employees also demonstrate greater readiness to adapt to intelligent workplace systems when organizations provide psychological support and apply human-centered management approaches. This study contributes to digital transformation literature by emphasizing the human side of technological change and integrating employee well-being with adaptation strategies in HRM practices, providing practical implications for creating adaptive and sustainable intelligent workplaces
