Abstract

This research aims to find out whether Islamic Religious Education textbooks prepared by teachers can help students improve students' understanding of Islamic Religious Education subjects amidst easy access to knowledge via internet sources and students' interest in reading (books) is currently relatively low. . Remembering that this subject is an important mandatory subject to be taught at SDN. 64 Tanatoa. To support the Islamic Religious Education learning process, learning media and textbooks are needed as one of them. The type of research used is empirical juridical, which emphasizes one variable, namely the benefits of textbooks as an effort to increase students' understanding of PAI subjects. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods and approaches to obtain results which can be concluded that the existence of Islamic Religious Education textbooks really helps students in completing the tasks given because the textbooks provided by the teacher are equipped with competency test sheets, so they can increase students' understanding of the subject. Abstract

Education is not only focused on the intellectual factors that a person has while studying butalso must be integrated with other factors such as attitudes, behavior, and character. With this,thearticledescribestheroleoftheprincipalatSMPN. 4 Bangkala JenepontoMadiunindevelopingprofessional teachers in the educational process who can improve student character. The datacollection technique used is interviews. Data processing and analysis techniques through datareduction,datapresentation,anddrawingconclusions.Theroleofschoolprincipalsinimproving teacher professionalism at Cendekia Vocational Schools by empowering teachers ismanifested in IHT (in House Training) activities, KKG (Teacher Working Group) or MGMP(Subject Teacher Consultations) activities and directing teachers to set good examples, provideguidance,direction,holdingcharacterdevelopment,extra-curricularandreligiousactivities.As well as creating new activities in the form of planting vegetables and raising catfish whichare divided into each class. In addition, SMPN. 4 Bangkala Jeneponto Madiun holds character developmentactivitiesthatinstillthecharacterofstudentswhoarehonest,disciplined,independent,creative,lovethehomeland,democraticattitude,hardwork,lovetoread,carefortheenvironment, social care, religious, sense of responsibility, and especially according to theschool's vision and mission that can develop students who are skilled, competitive, have faithandfearGod Almighty.
