Abstract

Agriculture is an important sector for rural communities, particularly for farming families who depend on rice production as their primary source of income. The farmers group in Sidomukti Village plays a strategic role in coordinating irrigation management, production activities, and cooperation among farmers in order to improve family welfare. This study aims to describe the roles and implementation strategies of the farmers group in enhancing the welfare of farming families. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving purposively selected informants. The findings indicate that the farmers group performs three main roles: as a learning forum, a cooperation forum, and a production unit, supported by additional roles such as strengthening administrative management, building partnership networks, and developing social capital. Through the implementation of these roles, the farmers group has been able to improve farmers’ capacity, production efficiency, market access, and family economic resilience. Overall, the farmers group makes a significant contribution to increasing agricultural productivity, income stability, and family welfare.
