Abstract

Since the formal opening of the Border Crossing Inspection Posts (Pos Pemeriksaan Lintas Batas-PPLB) in Entikong West Kalimantan and Tebedu Sarawak, mobility of people and goods between West Kalimantan and Sarawak has increased significantly. This paper discusses the nature of mobility of goods and people between the two neighboring regions. Mobility of cars and labour is also discussed since mobility of cars affects mobility of people and goods while mobility of labour is an important part of mobility of people. The data show that the number of goods and people, which are out from the Entikong Post, is always greater than the number of goods and people, which enters to the Entikong Post. It is finally predicted, that economic benefits gained by West Kalimantan due to the Entikong Post, will be difficult to sustain in the future era of free trade. Especially if the government at the border districts does not enhance the capability of people to compete with foreign labour as well as foreign products.

Abstract

Dosen mempunyai kewajiban Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, dimana salah satu dharmanya yaitu penelitian. Dosen harus melaksanakan penelitian, baik dengan dana yang telah tersedia pada institusi maupun dengan mencari dana lain. Dalam hal ini dosen dituntut untuk dapat menulis proposal penelitian yang tidak hanya menarik, tetapi juga sesuai kaidah penulisan karya ilmiah agar proposalnya dapat diterima dan didanai. Dalam hal penelitian multi tahun, ada laporan kemajuan/akhir yang harus dibuat sebaik mungkin sehingga dapat disetujui untuk melanjutkan peneltian ke tahun berikutnya. Setelah selesai penelitian maka dosen juga harus dapat menulis artikel untuk dipublikasikan ke jurnal internasional bereputasi ataupun ke jurnal nasional terakreditasi. Hal ini juga menuntut kemampuan dan pengetahuan tertentu yang harus dipunyai oleh seorang dosen. Berdasarkan informasi awal bahwa banyak dosen di Sambas yang menginginkan penyegaran mengenai penulisan proposal penelitian ataupun artikel untuk disubmit ke jurnal. Oleh karena itu, pengabdi mengadakan lokakarya penyegaran metode penelitian dan penulisan karya ilmiah bagi dosen di Sambas. Adapun tahapan kegiatannya, yaitu perencanaaan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pengabdi mempersiapkan materi penyegaran dan menetapkan waktu pelaksanaan lokakarya. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, pengabdi memaparkan materi penyegaran secara bergantian dan dilanjutkan dengan tanya jawab. Sebelum dan setelah lokakarya, peserta mengisi pre-test dan post-test. Secara umum peserta pelatihan berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman atas materi yang telah disampaikan dengan peningkatan hasil post-test (67,67) dibandingkan hasil pre-test (29,22). Dengan peningkatan indikator capaian ini dan antusiasme peserta dalam mengikuti lokakarya hingga selesai, diyakini bahwa peserta dapat tersegarkan kembali terkait dengan metode peneletian dan juga penulisan karya ilmiah.

Abstract

Objective – The urgency of this research is to examine the effect of corporate governance on corporate human development disclosures.Methodology – This study focuses on corporate reporting by twenty-six Regional Development Banks in Indonesia. It encompasses the examination of annual and stand-alone sustainability reports spanning from 2014 to 2021. Additionally, panel data analysis is employed in this research, specifically utilizing the Fixed Effect Model as the chosen analytical approach.Results – This research result shows that independent commissioners and female directors, as part of corporate governance, have a significant and positive effect on corporate human development disclosures.Research Implications – The implication of this research argues that independent commissioners and female directors, as part of corporate governance, have capabilities that can optimize corporate human development disclosures. By optimizing corporate human development through effective reporting practices, Regional Development Banks can better fulfill their role as agents of development. Principals and agencies must support each other in optimizing corporate human development. Novelty/Originality - The level of disclosure is measured based on the corporate human development index with an agency and human capability theory approach. Disclosure of the corporate human development index is voluntary and reflects corporate welfare through items from the human development index.
