Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of digital literacy-based character education in developing responsible students in the school environment. The rapid development of information technology demands the strengthening of students' character so they can use digital media wisely, ethically, and responsibly. Therefore, integrating character values ​​into digital literacy-based learning is a strategic step in addressing the challenges of the digital era. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Subjects included principals, teachers, and students, selected purposively. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using interactive analysis techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was achieved through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that digital literacy-based character education is implemented through the integration of the value of responsibility into learning activities, fostering the habit of ethical digital media use, and teacher supervision and guidance in students' online activities. This implementation has resulted in increased student awareness of responsible technology use, discipline in completing digital-based assignments, and the ability to critically filter information. Thus, digital literacy-based character education is an effective strategy in developing responsible and adaptive students to technological developments.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the lives of the younger generation, especially Generation Z, who grew up in an internet-based and social media-based environment. While digital advancements provide easy access to information and opportunities for self-development, they also give rise to various moral issues such as declining communication ethics, the spread of hoaxes, cyberbullying, consumer behavior, and low social responsibility. This situation demonstrates the importance of strengthening character education integrated with digital literacy as an effort to prevent moral degradation in Generation Z. This article aims to analyze the role of digital literacy in strengthening character education in the digital era. The method used is library research by reviewing various scientific literature, books, and research results related to character education, digital literacy, and the behavior of Generation Z. The results of the study indicate that digital literacy is not only related to the ability to use technology, but also includes critical thinking skills, digital ethics, responsibility in media, and the ability to filter information wisely. The integration of character education through digital literacy can shape religious values, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and integrity in students. Thus, strengthening digital literacy-based character education is an important strategy in creating a Generation Z that is intelligent, ethical, and able to face the challenges of technological development wisely

Abstract

The development of information technology requires educational institutions to optimize digital data management and academic services. However, at the senior high school (SMA) level, the utilization of website-based information systems is still not optimal due to limited user understanding and skills. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to improve digital literacy and the competence of teachers and education personnel in operating website-based school information systems. The implementation method includes needs analysis, material preparation, socialization through interactive training, direct practice of system use, and evaluation of participant understanding. The activity was carried out in the form of a workshop involving teachers, school operators, and administrative staff. The results of the activity showed an increase in participant understanding of information system features, such as student data management, grade management, academic information publication, and school communication. Evaluation through questionnaires and observations showed a positive response and an increase in participants' technical skills in operating the system. Thus, this socialization activity contributed to optimizing the use of website-based information systems to support more effective, efficient, and transparent school governance.
