Abstract

The rise in halal certification requests following the implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Law has increased the workload at BBSPJIKB. Employees assigned dual roles in assistance and inspection services are at risk of experiencing significant mental workload. This study aims to measure the level of mental workload and propose improvements. The Rating Scale Mental Effort (RSME) method was employed to assess six key indicators. The results show that most indicators fall within the high to very high categories. Fatigue emerged as the most dominant factor with an average score of 103.5, followed by workload (98) and mental effort (99). These findings indicate substantial mental pressure. Recommended improvements include proportional task distribution, additional staffing, implementation of a RACI Matrix, and limiting assistance duties to enhance employee well-being and work effectiveness at BBSPJIKB.
