Abstract

AbstractIntroduction: Scissor bite and cingulum bite represent transverse and vertical malocclusions that may compromise occlusal function and stability. Effective correction is essential to establish proper interincisal relationships. This case report describes the orthodontic management of an adult patient with unilateral scissor bite accompanied by cingulum bite. The aim of this case report was to present the treatment malocclusion of unilateral scissor bite and cingulum bite in adult patient. Case Report: A 23-year-old man patient who presented a skeletal class III and dental class I type 1 malocclusion. Intraoral examination showed scissor bite in 24/35 and 25/36, diastema 22-23, mesial drift 36 and cingulum bite. The patient was treated with 0.022-inc Roth prescription. Leveling and aligment were perfomed to correction scissor bite in 24/35 and 25/36 with open coil spring, lingual button, and using elastic class III in the end of treatment. After a total 26 months of treatment, all brackets were debonded. Conclusion: Treatment results achieved the patient’s profile and esthetic smile.

Abstract

Abstract Introductioin: Crowded teeth represent a high-prevalence malocclusion in growing children. Interceptive orthodontic treatmMyobrace successfully corrected maxillary and mandibular anterior crowding, established normal overjetletal patterns and eliminate myofunctional habits during early development. Objective: This case report utilizes myobrace appliances for crowded teeth in a child. Case Report: An 8-year-old patient came to Hasanuddin University Dental and Oral Hospital along with his parents with the main complaint of non-erupting anterior teeth. Intraoral examination revealed crowding of the maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth. Lateral cephalometric analysis showed class I skeletal. Interceptive orthodontic treatment was performed with myofunctional appliance with myobrace type. Initial staging was done with myobrace K1 for 4 months. The second stage was carried out with myobrace K2 for 4 months. The third stage is carried out with myobrace K3 for 4 months. The results of the treatment obtained anterior teeth in the normal arch and facial appearance improved. Discussion: Discussion: The Myobrace appliance effectively retrained aberrant orofacial muscles, normalized tongue posture, and provided arch development via its built-in structural features (e.g., Dynamicore and Frankel cage). This myofunctional re-educationMyobrace successfully corrected maxillary and mandibular anterior crowding, established normal overjeturing the active growth phase.   Conclusion: The maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth were corrected using myobrace appliance and obtained normal overjet and overbite, corrected mandibular anterior crowding and class 1 canine and molar relations.
