Abstract

The demand for high-quality chemicals has increased significantly along with the growth of various industrial sectors such as cosmetics, food and beverages, household products, and personal care products. This study aims to determine operational risks, risk classification and assessment, implemented mitigation strategies, and the effectiveness of these mitigation strategies based on risk management theory and standards. This study used descriptive methods and field observations to understand daily workflows and potential hazards. The results indicate that operational risks can be classified and assessed, primarily related to occupational safety and chemical security in warehouses. These findings indicate that existing risks can be minimized with mitigation strategies tailored to the risk classification and operational characteristics of chemical warehousing. This study recommends the need for regular risk evaluation, building a safety culture, utilizing technology, improving collaboration, and integrating risk management with quality management.
