Abstract

This research aims to analyze potentials and problems and to formulate a strategy for revitalizing historical tourism based on local potential through strengthening the role of Tourism Awareness in Sukadiri Tourism Village. Sukadiri Village has uniqueness and potential that can be developed as an attraction for tourists. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected by in-depth interviews, observations, documentation, and Focus Group Discussions with a Penta helix approach involving governments, academics, communities, media, business actors, and the public. Data analysis was carried out using a SWOT analysis model. The results of the study show that Suka Diri Tourism Village has superior potential in the form of Pengindelan Canal as a historical heritage, proximity to the Old Banten area, creative economy-based educational tourism such as salted eggs and batik, and local cultural attractions in the form of pencak silat. The results of the SWOT analysis placed Suka Diri Tourism Village in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy), so that the revitalization strategy is directed at strengthening the capacity of Pok Darwis, revitalizing facilities, developing experience-based tourism products, optimizing digital marketing, strengthening MSMEs, and Penta helix collaboration. This strategy is expected to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of village tourist destinations.
