<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the relationship between the values of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu and verbal bullying behavior among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru in the 2025/2026 academic year. Verbal bullying in student interactions at school, which is often perceived as a form of joking, highlights the importance of strengthening the values of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu as a guideline for speaking, behaving, and building social relationships. Tunjuk Ajar Melayu contains noble values, particularly religious, educational, socio-political, and moral values, which promote politeness, respect for others, responsibility, careful speech, and the avoidance of behaviors that may demean or hurt others. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The study population consisted of 40 students, all of whom were selected as the sample using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires based on a Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability, with Cronbach's Alpha values of 0.710 for the Tunjuk Ajar Melayu variable and 0.673 for the verbal bullying variable. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The descriptive analysis showed that students' practice of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu values was categorized as high, with 60%, while verbal bullying behavior was categorized as moderate at 65% and high at 35%. The hypothesis test results indicated a significant relationship between the values of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu and students' verbal bullying behavior, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.354 and a significance value of p = 0.025 0.05. The positive relationship with a low degree of correlation indicates that the presence and practice of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu values are associated with students' verbal bullying behavior, although the relationship is not strong. These findings indicate that the values of Tunjuk Ajar Melayu, particularly moral values and politeness in communication, need to be strengthened not only in students' understanding but also in their application in social interactions at school. The implications of this study provide input for Guidance and Counseling teachers to develop services that integrate Tunjuk Ajar Melayu values as a form of local wisdom in fostering polite communication, respect for others, and the prevention of verbal bullying behavior.
